Eugenia Rody began playing the piano at a very young age and quickly distinguished herself, winning first prize at the “Enfants au clavier – Beaux Arts 80 ans” competition in Medellín at the age of nine, followed by third prize at the VII and VIII National Piano Competitions UIS in Bucaramanga at the age of ten.

In 2002, she obtained her piano teaching degree from the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, graduating summa cum laude.

She then moved to Switzerland, where she earned her concert diploma at the Conservatory of Fribourg in 2006, in the class of Ricardo Castro, followed by a diploma in chamber music and accompaniment (Kammermusik und Liedbegleitung) at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2008 under Ulrich Koella, graduating with distinction.

For sixteen years, she taught piano to young students at the Conservatory of Fribourg, sharing her knowledge and musical foundations with a new generation of pianists. Eugenia has also served as pianist for the professional horn classes (Prof. Matteo Ravarelli) and trumpet classes (Prof. Jean-François Michel) at the Fribourg University of Music and regularly works as a guest accompanist in other Swiss institutions, notably in Neuchâtel and Zurich.

Her career has led her to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds — Jean-François Michel, Philipp Jundt, Gilles Rocha, Guy Michel, Christian Studler, Jean-Jacques Goumaz, Tim de Maeseneer, among others — in ensembles where the piano becomes a partner in breathing and musical dialogue. She has performed in Colombia, Switzerland, Venezuela, Ukraine and Taiwan both in recital and as a soloist with orchestras.

In 2024, she participated in the Dorian Music Flute Festival in Taipei alongside Philipp Jundt, Gareth McLearnon, Dejan Gavric, Aslihan And, and Shimizu Kazutaka. In September 2025, she was invited to Istanbul to accompany Philipp Jundt’s flute masterclass.

Since November 2024, at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg and the HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin), she has been accompanying on piano, putting the instrument at the service of dialogue and transforming each collaboration into a space for expression and shared musical experience.
